The Warwick/Adecco Fellowship brings together one of the top five research universities in the United Kingdom and the world's fifth largest employer to support research and study in relation to the Chinese labour market and its regulation.
For the academic year 2007/2008 the Warwick/Adecco Fellowship is funding a number of studentships for Chinese national students to undertake postgraduate study in the School of Law of the University of Warwick, leading to the degree of LL.M. in International Economic Law, followed by a period of work experience in one of Adecco's offices in the United Kingdom and/or China (Beijing or Shanghai).
The studentships, which are each worth a total of £5,000 sterling, are open to candidates holding an offer to study on the University of Warwick 's LL.M. degree programme in International Economic Law. Interviews for short-listed candidates will take place at the end of June 2007, and the successful scholars will be presented with their awards at the Warwick/Adecco Fellowship annual alumnus dinner in Beijing , on 14 July 2007.
The successful scholars will be expected to follow the one-year taught programme leading to the degree of LL.M. in International Economic Law, which will include particular focus upon international Labour Law regulation. That programme includes a requirement to undertake a piece of independent research in the form of a mini-thesis, and the successful scholars will be expected to direct that research to one or more aspects of the developing Chinese labour market and its legal regulation.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who are applying to Warwick for, or already hold an offer of, a place to study on the School of Law 's LL.M. degree programme in International Economic Law. Details of that programme can be obtained at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/law/pg/prospective/iel/
